2 pounds ground beef
2 (28 ounce) cans chow mein vegetables, drained
2 (8 ounce) cans sliced water chestnuts, drained
1 (10 3/4 ounce) can condensed cream of mushroom soup
1 1/2 cups uncooked instant rice
1/2 cup water
1 tablespoon soy sauce
slice of ginger root
1 clove garlic, chopped

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350º.

In Dutch oven, brown ground beef; drain. Mix in remaining ingredients. Spoon into large casserole.

Bake about 1 hour. Check for dryness and add water accordingly. Serve with chow mein noodles.
