1 c. sugar
1/4 c. cocoa
1/3 c. flour
1/4 tsp. salt
3 c. milk
3 egg yolks/whites separated
1/2 stick butter
1 tbsp. vanilla
1 cooled baked pie shell
Directions:
Directions:
Work all dry ingredients together. Add 3 cups of milk. Once your chocolate pie filling is almost cooked, take out about 1/2 cup of mixture. Beat 3 egg yolks in a bowl. Add the 1/2 cup of chocolate pie filling mixture to egg yolks and mix well. Add back into the remaining chocolate pie filling still in the pan. Add 1/2 stick of butter. Add 1 tbsp. of vanilla. Stir until chocolate pie filling mixture is thick. Pour into a cooled baked pie shell. Cool pie on a rack or towel. Topping is optional. Egg whites can be used for a meringue or can be topped with whipped cream.
