1 loaf French bread (not crusty kind)
3 eggs, beaten
3 tablespoons vanilla
1 cup raisins
1 quart milk
2 cups sugar
1 cup chopped pecans
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
1 stick butter

Lemon Sauce
1 cup sugar
1 stick butter
1/4 cup water
1 egg
1/4 tea spoon grated lemon peel
3 tablespoons lemon juice

Directions:
Directions:
Tear bread into pieces and soak in milk. Mix well. Mix remaining ingredients and add to bread and milk mixture. Melt half stick butter - or use the whole stick - in baking pan (9 x 13 works well) and pour mixture into pan. Bake 350º for 1 1/2 hours.

Lemon Sauce...mix ingredients to boiling and pour over hot bread pudding.
