1-1/2 c. Flour
1/2 t. Baking Soda
1/4 t. Salt
1/2 c. Butter, softened
3/4 c. packed Brown sugar
1 Egg
1 t. Vanilla
2 c. Chocolate Chips
1 c. Nuts, chopped (optional)

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350º oven. Combine flour, baking soda and salt in bowl; mix well. Beat butter and brown sugar until creamy. Add egg and vanilla; beat well. Gradually beat in flour mixture. Stir in the chocolate chips and nuts. Scoop tablespoon of dough. Roll into ball and place on cookie sheet. Bake 14 minutes or until cookies are almost set. Cool.

My favorite way to bake cookies is on a silicone baking sheet placed over a cookie sheet. The cookies come out perfectly. Another favorite way is on stoneware. I never use regular cookie sheets. You will not be disappointed in these. They taste best after they've sat a few hours, and remain soft and fresh longer than most chocolate chip cookie recipes. Can also use an ice cream scoop for large bakery style cookies. I usually double or triple this recipe.
