2 c. all purpose flour, 2 c. granulated sugar, 1/4 tsp. salt, 1/2 c. buttermilk, 2 large eggs, 1 tsp. vanilla, 1 tsp. baking soda, 2 sticks butter, and 4 heaping tbsp. cocoa powder.

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350º F. You'll need a 12 x 16 to 18" rimmed baking pan.
Cake: In a large bowl combine flour, sugar, and salt. Stir together and set aside. In another bowl mix buttermilk, eggs, vanilla, and soda. Mix with fork and set aside. In med. sauce pan, melt butter and cocoa. Whisk together to combine. Meanwhile bring 2 c. water to boil. Pour boiling water into the pan. Allow to bubble for a moment, then turn off the heat. Pour the chocolate mixture into the flour mixture. Stir together for a moment to cool the chocolate, then pour in the egg mixture. Stir together until smooth, then pour into ungreased pan and bake for 20 min or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
Meanwhile, make the icing: Melt the butter in a saucepan over medium-low heat. Add the cocoa powder and stir until smooth Add the milk and vanilla. Add confectioners' sugar. Stir together. Dump in the chipped pecans and stir until well combined. Immediately after removing the cake from the oven, pour the warm icing over the top. You'll want to avoid doing much spreading, so try to distribute evenly as your pour.
