3 cups flour
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1 cup sugar
1 cup softened unsalted butter
1 beaten egg
3 tbsp. heavy cream
1 tsp. vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Sift all dry ingredients together, then cut in butter. Add wet ingredients and blend until mixed. Do not over mix, dough will get tough.
Refrigerate at least two hours.
Take dough out of fridge and let rest for 30 minutes.
Roll dough out on floured surface with a rolling pin.
Cut cookies using your favorite cookie cutters and decorate with red hots and colored sugar or any cookie topping/frosting you prefer.
Place on ungreased cookie sheets.
Bake at 400 F. for 5-8 minutes until just done, do not over bake.

My mother has been using this recipe since my brother and I were little. This recipe brings back fond memories of Christmas time. My dad and I would always get caught eating the dough, which I highly recommend trying!
