1 cup room temperature butter
2 3/4 cups sugar
6 room temperature eggs
3 cups sifted all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
1 1/4 cups sour cream
1 teaspoon vanilla

Directions:
Preheat oven to 350º.

Grease and flour a 10 inch tube pan.

Cream butter with sugar using an electric mixer. Add eggs 1 at a time, beating well after each addition. Sift flour, salt and baking soda. Add flour to butter mixture in 3 batches alternately with sour cream, mixing well after each addition. Blend in vanilla.

Pour batter into prepared pan. Bake until top is light brown a tester inserted near center comes out clean, after about 1 hour and 15 minutes. Cool cake completely in pan before serving
