Ingredients: 2 1/4 c. sifted all purpose flour 1/2 tsp. salt 1 c. crisco shortening (not oil) 1 c. sugar 3 oz pk cream cheese, softened (plus cream cheese for frosting) 2 eggs 2 tsp orange juice 1 tsp grated orange rind 1 6 oz pck semi sweet choc pieces
Orange icing - 2 c. powdered sugar, 3 oz cream cheese 1 tsp orange juice 1 tsp grated orange rind

Directions:Preheat oven to 350. Lightly grease cookie sheets if not using air bake sheets. Sift flour and salt together and set aside. Beat shortening, sugar and cream cheese until mixed. Beat in eggs, one at a time. Add juice and rind. Blend in flour and mix well. Add chocolate chips. Drop by teaspoonfuls on sheet. Bake for 12 mintues or until lightly browned around edges. Cool on paper towels. Spread tops with icing.
Icing - Mix powdered sugar with cream cheese until well blended. Stir in orange juice and grated orange rind. |
