Freezer Strawberry Jam Recipe

1 Qt strawberries
4 C sugar
1 box sure-jell (pectin)
1 C water

Directions:
Directions:
Clean and wash firm, ripe strawberries.
Crush thoroughly.
Measure 2 C of berries and put into a large bowl.
Stir sugar into the berries and let stand for 10 minutes.

Stir the pectin into 1 C of water in a small saucepan.
Bring to a full boil and boil for 1 minute, stirring constantly.
Quickly stir pectin solution into into fruit-sugar mixture.
Continue stirring for 3 minutes.

Ladle jam into containers, leaving 1/2 inch space at the top.
Cover containers and let stand at room temperature until jam has set (up to 24 hours).

Store jam in refrigerator. May be frozen or "canned".

I tried this recipe, and it didn't set up well enough to be jam, but it made the best ice cream topping I've ever had (good thing, because we had a lot of it!).
