1 lb beef stew meat
salt, pepper, flour
2 Tablespoons lard
1 medium onion
1 3/4 cup water
1 can condensed tomato soup
1 small bay leaf
2 whole cloves
1 stalk celery
4 carrots
3 medium potatoes
1 cup canned peas

Directions:
Directions:
Cut meat into 1" cubes, sprinkle with salt, pepper and flour. Brown meat thoroughly and put in 2 quart casserole. Lightly brown onion in the hot lard. Add to meat. Heat water with tomato soup and pour over meat. Add celery. Cover and bake at 325 degrees for 1-1/2 hours or until nearly tender. Add carrots, potatoes (cut in 1/8" pieces) and peas. Cover and continue baking for 45 minutes.
