Before a disaster- Make sure your pet has current vaccinations. Shelters may require proof. Have a current photo of your pet Keep a collar wit identification Have a leash on hand Have a proper size pet carrier Remember, specialized pet shelters, animal control shelters, veterinary clinics and friends and relatives out of harm's way are all potential refuges for your pet during a disaster. Pet shelters will fill on a first come first serve basis. Call ahead to determine availability.
