1/2 c. butter, room temperature
1 T. Crisco shortening
1/2 c. sugar
1 egg
1 large tsp. almond extract
1/2 c. cream
2 tsp. baking powder
2 1/4 - 2 1.2 c. flour- enough to be able to roll in circles

Directions:

Cream together first three ingredients. Add egg and extract. Add cream to mixture. Add flour and baking powder. Add enough flour to be able to roll in circles. Roll a 1 in. chunk of dough into circles or figure eights NOT into a ball. Dip in pearl sugar and bake at 375º for 15 min. or until done.

These were passed down from my Grandma Tietgen and are VERY good. We usally make these at Christmas.
