Directions:
Use large mixing bowl, and electric mixer. Blend together the sugar, shortening and butter. Blend in eggs one at a time until well mixed. Add vanilla and almond extracts. After blended, mix on high speed of mixer about 3 minutes. Blend in flour and baking powder on slower speed. Take spatula and smooth batter out in the mixing bowl. Divide into thirds. Spread 2/3 of batter into greased 10x15 jelly roll pan. Spread two cans of cherry pie filling onto batter. Drop remaining batter by small spoonfuls on top. taking a fork or knife to spread the spoonfuls out as much as you can, it won't completely cover the top. Bake 350º oven for 35 to 40 minutes. Prepare glaze. Stir p sugar and milk tog well and drizzle over the top. This freezes well, cut into squares first before freezing and then desired amount can be taken out as needed.
