Italian Plum Bread Recipe

1 cup butter
2 c sugar
1 tsp vanilla
4 eggs
3 cups flour
1 t each of salt, cream of tartar, & cinnamon
1/2 t baking soda
3/4 cup sour cream
2 t grated orange peel
2 c pitted and sliced italian plums, in 1/2 " pieces
1 cup chopped nuts.

Directions:
Directions:
Cream butter, sugar & vanilla until fluffy. Add eggs, one at a time, beating after each addition. Combine flour, salt, cream of tartar, cinnamon and baking soda. Blend sour cream and orange peel, add to creamed mixture alternately with dry ingredients. Stir until well blended. Add plums and nuts. Mix well. Divide between 2 greased & floured loaf pans.
Bake at 350º 50 - 55 minutes until a wooden toothpick near center comes out clean. Cool bread in pan 10 min. Remove from pan and cool thoroughly on rack.
