Ingredients:
Ingredients:
3 c. all purpose flour
1 tsp. salt
1 egg
1 1/2 c. vegetable shortening
5 tbsp. cold water
1 tbsp. distilled white vinegar

Directions:
Directions:
Combine flour and salt in a large bowl. Add shortening and cut in flour and shortening with a pastry cutter or fork. I like to use my food processor for this part, it makes it much easier! Lightly beat egg and add to mixture, then add vinegar, mix lightly with wooden spoon or rubber spatula. Then add cold water.
Split dough into two sections for deep dish pies or three sections for thin crusts, one crust pies, or chicken pot pie. Place each section in freezer bags still open and flatten slightly with a rolling pin then close bags removing all the air. Place in freezer for a few minutes before rolling out OR keep in the freezer until needed.

Personal Notes:
Personal Notes:
Makes two deep dish crusts or three thin regular sized crusts. Make ahead and freeze for later use! You'll always have homemade pie crusts handy.
