1 9" unbaked pie shell, well chilled
1 tbsp. butter, softened
12 bacon slices or diced ham
4 eggs
2 cups heavy whipping cream
3/4 tsp. salt
Dash of nutmeg
Dash of sugar
Dash of cayenne
1/8 tsp. pepper
1/4 lb. natural Swiss cheese, shredded (1 cup)

Preheat oven to 425º.

Rub surface of crust with butter. Fry bacon until crisp, crumble on crust and spread cheese.

Combine eggs, cream, salt nutmeg, pepper, sugar and cayenne. Beat just long enough to mix thoroughly. Pour over bacon and cheese.

Bake 15 minutes, reduce oven heat to 300º and bake 40 minutes or until table knife when inserted into center comes out clean.
