4 cups flour
2 cups salt
1 tsp. powdered alum
1 1/2 cups water
Food color (if desired)

Directions:
Directions:
Mix all ingredients thoroughly with hands. If dough is too dry, work in 1 tbsp. water. If you wish, cough can be colored by dividing into several parts and kneading in desired food color in each part. Roll or mold as directed..

Heat oven to 250º. Place ornaments on ungreased cookie sheet, Bake until completely hard and dry, about 2 hours. Remove and cool.

Dough will keep in refrigerator for 2 weeks wrapped in plastic wrap and or foil.

Decorate with paints and finish with polyurethane spray.
