1 gallon sliced sour or dill pickles
5 pounds sugar, minus 2 cups
12 cloves garlic (about 1 whole pod)
1 teaspoon celery seed
1 teaspoon mustard seed
1 ounce (1/2 small bottle) Tabasco sauce

Directions:
Directions:
Drain liquid off pickles in large colander. Layer pickles back into jar with sugar, garlic cloves, seeds and Tabasco sauce. Yes, the sugar will all go in.

Reseal jar and lay on its side and roll jar until sugar turns to syrup. Leave in gallon jar 3 to 5 days, turning occasionally. They're best if left 5 days. Put in 8 1-pint jars and seal. Makes great gifts!
