5 lbs McIntosh or Macoun apples
grated zest of 1 orange
grated zest of 1 lemon
2 T. freshly squeezed orange juice
2 T. freshly squeezed lemon juice
1/2 c. sugar
2 T. cinnamon
1 t. nutmeg

topping:
1 1/2 c. flour
3/4 c. sugar
3/4 c. brown sugar
1/2 t. salt
1 c. oatmeal
1/2 lb unsalted buter, diced

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350º. Butter a 9 x 14 x 2 inch oval baking dish.

Pel, core, and cut the apples into large wedgs. Combine apples with zest, juices, sugar and spices. Pour into dish.

Topping: combine flour, sugars, salt, oatmeal and cold butter in bowl, mix on low until crumbly and butter the size of peas. Spread evenly over apples.

Place crisp on baking sheet and bake 1 hour until the top is brown and the apples are bubbly. Serve warm.
