1 stick butter
1 cup packed brown sugar
2 tablespoons corn syrup
1 loaf French, Chullah or Rustic Italian bread
5 eggs
1 cup half and half
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 teaspoon Grand Marnier
1 teaspoon Salt

Directions:
Directions:
Heat butter, brown sugar and corn syrup in a saucepan until butter is melted and mixture is smooth, stirring constantly. Cut desired bread into 1 inch thick slices. Trim the crust from each slice. Arrange the bread in a baking dish. You may have to trim some of the bread to fit evenly in the bottom of the dish so the entire bottom is covered. Beat eggs, half and half, vanilla, Grand Marnier and salt in a bowl with a whisk. Pour over the bread. Chill covered for 8-12 hours. Uncover and bring to room temperature. Bake at 350º on middle rack for about 40 minutes or until puffed and browned.
