2 sticks margarine
1/3 cup vegetable shortening (8 tbsp. solid Crisco)
3 cups sugar
5 eggs
3 cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 cup whole milk
1 tsp. each: coconut, butter, rum, lemon, and vanilla flavorings

Glaze:

1 cup sugar
1/2 cup water
1 tsp each: coconut, rum, butter, lemon and vanilla flavorings

Preheat oven to 325º.

Cream together margarine, shortening and sugar. Add eggs one at a time, beating thoroughly after each addition. Sift together the flour and baking powder and add alternately to batter with milk. Add flavorings last and beat well.

Put into a well greased and floured 10 inch tube pan and bake at 325º for 1 1/2 hours. Cool in pan about 10 minutes then add glaze.

Five Flavor Glaze:

1 cup sugar
1/2 cup water
1 tsp. each: coconut, rum butter, lemon and vanilla flavorings.

Combine sugar, flavorings and water in a heavy saucepan. Bring to a boil and stir well until sugar is melted. Spoon half of hot mixture over cake before taking it out of the cake pan. Keep remaining glaze on low while glaze soaks in. Then turn out cake and spoon rest of mixture over cake. Stays moist and freezes well.
