1 lg. can pumpkin
3 eggs
1/2 c. sugar
1 (14-oz.) can evaporated milk
3 tsp. pumpkin pie spice
1 pkg. yellow cake mix
1 1/2 cubes butter (I use 1 cube
chopped walnuts, to taste

Directions:
Directions:
Mix pumpkin, eggs, sugar, milk and spice together in bowl, mix well. Spray 9x13 inch baking dish with Pam. Sprinkle cake mix evenly over pumpkin mixture. Drizzle melted butter over all. Sprinkle with chopped nuts. Bake 350 degree oven for 1 hour, or when knife comes out clean, when tested in center. Serve with whipped cream or Cool Whip.

Past generations would have grown the pumpkin, prepared it, then made the recipe. Wonder if it tasted better? Think I'll use the modern method and open the can. A good recipe for those of us, who don't want to make a pumpkin pie.
