2 cans garbanzo beans (16oz)
5 tbsp. tahini paste
6 cloves garlic (small cloves, or 2 tbsp. minced garlic)
1/3 c. lemon juice
1/3 c.+2 tbsp. olive oil
1/2 c. water
2 tsp. kosher salt
1 1/2 tsp. black pepper
1 tsp. paprika
4 tbsp. chopped fresh cilantro (4 to 5 full sprigs)

Drain and rinse garbanzos. Put all ingredients in a food processor and blend until almost smooth. Add more water for desired consistency and more salt and pepper to taste.

The base/basic hummus recipe is just as above, but without the cilantro. Personally I never make it without the cilantro anymore. There are many other "add-ins" such as sundried tomatoes, fresh jalapeņos for a little kick, etc!
