Directions:
Combine 2 T sugar and 1 T. cornstarch in small pan, add 1/2 c. water. Cook over med. heat, stirring constantly til thick. Cool.

Beat 3 egg whites with 1/8 t. salt and 1/2 t. vanilla til soft mounds form.

Add 6 T. sugar gradually, beating well after each addition. Add cornstarch mixture. Continue beating til mixture forms stiff peaks.

350º 12-15 minutes
