Ingredients:  
1/2 cup shortening
1 cup sugar
1 cup raisins
1 cup currents
1 cup grated raw carrot
1 cup grated raw potatoes
1 tsp. soda in potatoes
1 cup flour
1/2 cup walnut meats
1 tsp. each cloves, nutmeg, cinnamon and salt

Lemon Sauce for pudding:
1 cup sugar
2 T. flour,
1/2 cube butter
2 cups water
1 lemon

Directions:
Directions:
Steam in a can or mold for 3 hours with water half way up the can. If too sloppy add a little more flour. For lemon sauce: combine sugar water butter and flour in saucepan. Bring to boil adding water if too thick. Sliver up a raw lemon and add to sauce. Can flavor with vanilla or other flavoring.
