Ingredients:
Peel and chop apples (enough to fill your crock pot)
3 1/2 C. sugar
4 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp cloves
1/4 tsp salt

Directions:
Directions:
Mix the sugar with the spices. Layer the apples and the sugar mixture. The crock pot should be heaping full. By layering the apple and sugar mixture it will get a better even mixture. Cook on high for 1 hour. Reduce heat to low. Cook all day or all night 8-10 hours or until apple butter is dark and thick. Stir and mash apples with a potato masher or an electric hand mixer. Ladle into hot sterilized jars. Seal with 2 piece lids. Label the lids with the contents and year when they are cool.

Personal Notes:
This is the easiest way I have found. You are not standing over a stove making sure it does not burn or heating your house with the oven in the middle of summer.
