Dried or canned beans,
variations: navy beans,
pinto, split peas, black eyed peas
(sometimes called black eyed Susies)
Chopped spiral ham or the bone?scraps
from a spiral ham.
Chopped onions -optional

Directions:
Directions:
Soak and cook beans or peas if raw. Place a chosen quantity of beans or peas in a slow cooker or large sauce pan. Add ham meat and bone. Stir until thoroughly mixed. Simmer for several hours until bone and ham have flavored the beans. Stir and add liquid occasionally.
