1 1/2 c. sugar
1 1/2 c. packed brown sugar

Directions:
In a large bowl, cream the shortening, peanut butter and sugars. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each additions. Combine dry ingredients; gradually add to the creamed mixture and mix well. Chill for at least one hour.

Shape 4 teaspoons of dough around each Milk Dud so it is completely covered. Roll balls in 1/2 c. sugar. Place 2 inches apart on ungreased baking sheet. Bake at 350º for 10-12 minutes or until set. Cool for 5 min. before removing to wire racks. Makes about 8 dozen. (These can also be cooked without the Milk Duds as soft, peanut butter cookies.)
