1 1/3 lb. ground pork
2/3 lb. ground beef
2 eggs
l tbsp. parsley, 1 onion, Worcestershire sauce, 2 tsp. salt, pepper, 1 cup rice
1-2 heads cabbage depending on the size

Directions:

Cook rice until not too soft, strain in a sieve or colander and mix with meat mixture ingredients. Remove core from cabbage and scald head of cabbage in hot to boiling water @ 4 minutes - just until leaves bend. Layer bottom of a deep pan with the outer leaves and pour in a qt. of stewed tomatoes; pat and roll meat mixture into cabbage leaves and place in pan; after @ 1/2 hour, take a couple of halupkies out of the pan and put in a qt. of sauerkraut and return halupkies to the pan and cook on medium heat for 1 to 1 1/2 hours at a simmer; not boiling.

Depending on the number of servings, the meat mixture should be 2/3 pork and 1/3 beef. Also, if you prefer more sauce, add a can of tomato sauce to the stewed tomatoes.
