1/2 c. butter
2 squares unsweetened choclate
1 c. sugar
2 eggs
3/4 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 c. nuts chopped
1 scant tbsp. cocoa
Butter Frosting:
2 tbsp. butter, softened
2 c. sifted powdered sugar
1-2 tbsp. cream
1/4 tbsp. vanilla
1 to 2 drops pink or green food coloring
Chocolate Topping:
1 square unsweetened chocolate
1/4 c. water
3 tbsp. butter
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. brown sugar
1 1/2 c. powdered sugar

Directions:
Directions:
Melt butter and chocolate together over hot (not boiling) water. Add sugar and mix well. Add eggs separately and beat well after each addition. Sift dry ingredients together, add nuts and combine with chocolate mixture. Pour into greased, shallow 9 x 12 inch pan which has been sprinkled with scant tbsp. cocoa. Bake for 20 minutes at 350º. Cool thoroughly in pan.
Butter Frosting:
Combine all ingredients and spread over cooled brownies.
Chocolate Topping:
Combine chocolate, water, butter, vanilla, and brown sugar. Place over medium heat. Bring to a boil; boil for 1 minute. Cool slightly. Add powdered sugar. Spread over butter frosting. Allow to set before cutting brownies into squares. Freeze if desired.
