1/4 c shortening
1/2 c sugar
1/4 c milk
1 egg
1 c cake flour
1 1/4 tbsp baking powder
1/8 tbsp salt
1/2 tsp vanilla
Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 375ºF.

Cream shortening and sugar, add egg and beat well.

Add flour sifted with baking powder and salt, alternating with the vanilla and milk.

Fill greased muffin cups 1/2 full.

Bake for 20 minutes.

Remove from pans as soon as baked and cool on wire cake racks.

Makes about 12 cupcakes.
