1 cup butter
1 cup margarine
1 tsp salt
3 eggs (beaten)
2 cup sugar
¼ cup milk
1 tsp cream of tartar
2 tsp baking powder
1 tsp nutmeg
7½ cup flour
1 lb currants

Directions:
Directions:
Wash and drain currants. Cream butter and sugar. Add eggs to milk, then add to sugar mixture alternately with dry ingredients. Roll on floured board and cut with round cutter. Fry on griddle or electric frying pan at 350º until brown on both sides. Makes 8 dozen 3-inch cookies.
