Ingredients:
Ingredients:
1 1/3 cups Quaker Original Instant Grits
5 cups Water
1 1/2 teaspoon salt
2 sticks real salted butter
Whole Milk
Small 3 ounce size Philadelphia Cream Cheese
Sharp Cheddar Cheese, grated

Directions:
Directions:
Bring water and salt to boil on medium high heat. Pour in grits. I pour them directly over my whisk and stir constantly to blend or they will lump up together (if that happens just use a fork to mash the lump apart against the side of your pot.) Stir continuously and add in 1 stick of butter. If it starts to get too thick add whole milk in and stir to blend. Drop in the cream cheese in pieces so it melts better. Stir until butter and cream cheese are incorporated and melted. Add in second stick of butter if desired. You can either make these into cheese grits by adding in the cheese or simply serve as a topper option. Spoon leftover grits into a casserole dish and top with grated cheese. Bake until warmed to serve as a side dish for dinner.

I have used up to a half a brick of cream cheese before. It is pretty much a personal preference! Leftover grits make a great casserole or grits bites appetizers.
