1 bar of Fels Napha soap,
grated, (still found in stores)
1 cup Arm and Hammer Washing
soda
1/2 cup Borax
4 cups hot water

Directions:
Directions:
Melt soap in hot water on medium heat. Stir into 5 gallon bucket half full of hot tap water. Add remaining ingredients and stir until dissolved. Fill bucket to the top with more hot tap water and let sit overnight. Use approximately 1/2 cup per load, more or less depending on the size of the load and how dirty the clothes are.
Note: Stir or shake well before each use.

With the way things are now, we might be making our own soap like they did in the olden days. However, the old way to make soap is with lye and grease from bacon etc.
