3 c. sugar, 1/3 c. water, 3/4 c. light karo syrup, 1 c. chopped pecans, 2 egg whites, and 1 1/2 tsp. meringue powder (buy where they sell Wilton cake supplies)

Directions:
For best results use a cooking thermometer. Cook on high heat, sugar, water, syrup, in 4 qt. heavy pan, (I use a pressure cooker without the lid) mixture gets very hot. Do not let it get on you. In a 4 qt. mixing bowl start beating egg whites and meringue powder. Beat until stiff. Continue cooking and stirring the syrup mixture.
