1 medium acorn squash
1/3 cup maple syrup or 3 Tbsp. lightly packed brown sugar

2 Tbsp butter, melted
1/2 tsp. orange zest (optional)
1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon or nutmeg

Directions:
Directions:
Cut squash in half lengthwise; remove and discard seeds. Arrange squash halves, cut sides down, in a 2-quart. baking dish. Bake at 350º for 45 minutes. Turn squash cut side up.

In a small bowl, stir together the maple syrup, butter, orange zest (optional) and cinnamon. Spoon maple syrup mixture into centers of squash halves and bake for 20 to 25 minutes or until squash is tender.
