1c. milk
1/2c. sugar
1/2c shortening
1T. salt
2 packages rapid rise yeast
1/4 c warm water
1 tsp. sugar
2 eggs
1c. lukewarm water, scalded
6 1/2 c. flour

Directions:
Directions:
In measuring cup add 1/4 c warm water, yeast, and 1 tsp. sugar(stir together and allow this to activate yeast).
While yeast is activating, in medium saucepan add milk, sugar, shortening and salt and scald, then allow to cool.
Once scalded mixture is cool beat in two eggs and one cup lukewarm water. Initially add 3 c. flour and mix. Add up to a total of 6 1/2 c. flour to make workable dough mixture.
Cover dough and place in warm place to rise(usually takes about an hour), punch down and make rolls or loaves then allow to raise again before baking in 350º oven for 20 minutes or until golden brown.

Family favorite..baking this bread brings back memories of coming home from school and smelling hot rolls or better yet cinnamon rolls for a snack. Mom used same recipe for cinnamon rolls as well. Nothing was better than these rolls fresh out of the oven slathered with butter.
