1 cup sugar
1 cup shortening
1 tsp salt
1 tsp soda
1 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp ginger
4 cups flour
1 egg (well beaten)
1/3 cup Molasses
2/3 cup Brown Karo syrup
1/3 buttermilk
Glaze:
2 cups sifted confectioners' sugar
2-3 tsp milk

Directions:
Directions:
Cream together sugar and shortening. sift together the spices and flour. Add egg to creamed mixture then add molasses, syrup and buttermilk. Lastly add sifted dry ingredients. Roll into balls and place on ungreased cookie sheet. Press down with bottom of glass and sprinkle with granulated sugar. Bake at 350º about 10-12 min. Frost with the powdered sugar and milk glaze if want
