Notes: I have an urge to make this cake at thanksgiving I'm hosting this year because it was Pete's favorite. I want to make it and think of Pete and his too strong handshake, how he took me heli skiing, how he didn't realize his ski jacket was purple because he was color blind, how much he helped others and to toast him and remember how much he loved life and how much he loved my mom's coconut cake!
