1 lb. ground beef
2 - 1/2 cups mozzarella
2 cups ricotta (or cottage) cheese
1/2 cup parmesan
1/4 cup parsley (fresh), or 2 tbsp. dry
1 egg, lightly beaten
1 can (680 ml) pasta sauce
1 - 1/2 cups water
12 lasagna noodles, uncooked

1. Preheat oven to 350º. Brown meat in large skillet on med-high heat. Meanwhile, mix 1 - 1/4 cups of mozzarella, ricotta, 1/4 cup of parmesan, parsley and egg until well blended.

2. Drain meat; return to skillet. Stir in pasta sauce. Pour water into empty sauce can; shake it around and add to skillet; stir until well blended.

3. Spread 1 cup of the meat sauce onto bottom of 13x9 baking dish; cover with layers of 3 of the noodles, 1/3 of the ricotta cheese mixture and 1 cup of the remaining meat sauce. Repeat layers 2 times. Top with remaining 3 noodles and remaining meat sauce. Sprinkle with remaining 1 - 1/4 cups mozzarella and 1/4 cup parmesan. Cover tightly with greased foil.

4. Bake 1 hour. Uncover; bake an additional 15 min. or until heated through. Let stand 15 min. before cutting to serve.

Adding water to the sauce helps cook noodles during baking, so you don't have to cook them before assembling the lasagna...saves you 15 min. of prep time!
