4 oz butter
1 cup sugar
2 eggs
1/2 cup Self Raising flour
1/2 cup Plain flour
1/2 cup milk
Lemon rind and Juice of 1-2 lemons

Directions:
Directions:
1. Cream butter well and add sugar and beat again.
2. Add eggs one at a time and beat well after each one.
3. Sift flour and add alternately with milk and lemon rind.
4. Put in greased loaf tin and bake in moderate oven for 40-45 minutes.
5. Mix lemon juice and 1/4 cup sugar until sugar dissolves and when loaf is cooked pour over gently while still hot.

The recipe was given to me by your Great Auntie Noeleen when we lived in Otautau.

I think it was a favourite of her family and it is soooo lemony - really delicious!
