1/4 cup cider vinegar
3/4 cup warm water
1 tablespoon salt
1 teaspoon paprika
2 tablespoons dark brown sugar
1 tablespoon dark molasses
3 tablespoons dry mustard
1/2 cup catsup
1/4 cup chile sauce
3 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
1 clove garlic, pressed
2 tablespoons finely minced onion
1 cup butter

Directions:

In a 2 cup measure, combine vinegar with water. Stir in salt, pepper, paprika, dry mustard, brown sugar and molasses. Set aside to steep. Combine catsup, chile sauce, Worcestershire sauce, onion, garlic and butter in sauce pan, stirring until melted, then bringing to a boil. Stir in vinegar water mixture and reduce heat to a simmer; cook for 45 minutes, stirring occasionally. Serve warm as a side sauce over bar-b-que. Store in covered container in refrigerator.

Never use this sauce as a bar-b-que mop while cooking meat on the grill or pit, for it contains sugar and tomatoes, which will scorch and turn to char ruining the taste and look of the meat.
