4 cups flour
2 cups sugar
4 eggs
1 cup + 1 tsp shortening
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp soda
1 1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp nutmeg
1/4 tsp allspice
1 1/2 cups water
2 cups raisins
1 cup chopped nuts

Directions:
Directions:
Boil raisins and water 10 min. and cool. Cream shortening and sugar; beat in eggs one at a time. Add vanilla and raisins (and liquid) mixture and sifted dry ingredients.
Drop from spoon on greased cookie sheet. Bake 400º until done; about 10-12 minutes. Put on rack to cool.
