30 small beets
1 pint vinegar
2 cups sugar
3 tsp all spice
24 whole cloves

Directions:
Boil Beets till tender then peel in cold water. As fast as beets are peeled drop into hot sterilized jars. Combine sugar and vinegar. Boil for 3 min. Put 4 cloves and 1/2 tsp all spice in each pint. Pour in boiling brine and seal.
