1 cup egg whites
1/2 tsp cream of tartar
1 3/4 cups flour
1 3/4 cups sugar
1 tsp salt
1 1/2 tsp soda
1/2 cup cocoa
3/4 cup boiling water
2 tsp vanilla
1/2 cup oil
egg yolks

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 325º. Combine cocoa and boiling water and set aside to cool. Beat egg whites and cream of tartar until stiff. Combine dry ingredients making a well. Into well, pour cooled cocoa mixture, vanilla, oil and egg yolks. Stir until well mixed. Fold this mixture into beaten egg whites. Pour into large tube pan. Bake at 325º for 50 min and then at 350º for 10 to 15 min. Remove from oven and invert to cool.
