1 c shortening (I use half crisco and half oleo)
1 1/2 c sugar
2 eggs
2 3/4 c plain flour, sifted
2 tsp cream of tartar
1 tsp soda
1/4 tsp salt
2 tbsp sugar
2 tsp cinnamon

Directions:
Mix shortening, 1 1/2 c sugar and eggs thoroughly. Blend flour, cream of tartar, soda and salt and stir in. Chill overnight. Heat oven to 400º Shape dough into 1- inch balls. Roll in mixture of 2 tbsp sugar and cinnamon. Place 2 inches apart on ungreased baking sheet. Bake 8 to 10 minutes. These cookies puff at first,k then flatten out.

I have to make this every year for Daughter Karen Bryant and Granddaughter Nikki Bryant. This is Nikki's favorite one. ( Karen told me that)
I found out this is ine of my grandson's (Richard Pollard's) favorite cookies.
