2 c. Sugar
2 tsp. Cinnamon
¾ c. Shortening
1 tsp. Cloves
2 c. Raisins
2 tsp. Nutmeg
2 c. Water
Pinch of Salt
2 tsp. Soda (level)
2 c. Flour
1 c. Chopped Nuts

Directions:
Directions:
Place sugar, cinnamon, shortening, cloves, raisins, nutmeg, water and salt in kettle. Let boil 5 minutes. Cool until lukewarm. Add soda; then add flour (enough to make it about as thick as waffle batter; pour into pan. Add Chopped nuts and bake at 350 º for 90-120 minute or until toothpick comes out clean.
