1 1/2 lbs. lean ground beef
3/4 cup onion, finely chopped
1 garlic clove, minced
3/4 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. ground oregano
1/2 tsp. sugar
1/4 tsp. dried basil, crushed
1/4 tsp pepper
1/4 rosemary leaves, crushed
1/4 tsp. sage
1/4 tsp. thyme
dash of tarragon leaves, crushed
1 can 15 oz. tomato sauce
1 can 15 oz. whole tomatoes
1 1/2 cup mozzarella cheese
1 egg
1 tbsp. water
1 cup sour cream
bell pepper (confetti for top of pie)

Directions:
Directions:
Combine beef, onion and garlic in saucepan until beef is no longer pink and onion is tender. Pour off grease. Add herbs and tomato sauce. Simmer for 15 minutes. Stir occasionally. Prepare pastry. Divide in half. Roll 1 half and place on 9" pie plate. Sprinkle 1/3 of mozzarella cheese onto pastry. Top with 1/3 beef mixture. Repeat twice. Roll out other piece pastry in a 10" circle. Cut steam vents in pastry and place on top. Trim and crimp edge. Beat egg and water, brush top of pie with part of egg wash. Arrange pastry designs on top of piece. Bake 15 minutes at 425º (cover edges with foil). Reduce to 350º and continue baking for 20 minutes. Let set for 20 minutes. Put a dollop of sour cream on each piece.
