1st layer
1 c. flour
1/2 c. soft butter
2 T. water

2nd layer
1/2 c. butter
1 c. water
1 c. flour
1 tsp. vanilla
3 eggs

Directions:
Directions:
Heat oven to 350 degrees F. 1st layer-Put butter in bowl than cut in flour than add water. Mix good. Than divide dough in half, pat dough using hands into 2 strips 3" x 15" on a cookie sheet.
2nd layer-In a sauce pan bring water and butter to a rolling boil, remove from heat and add flour and vanilla. Add at once return to low heat and stir vigarously til it forms a ball about 1 minute. Remove from heat. Add eggs 1 at a time beating after each addition so mixture is smooth. Spread evenly on each strip. Bake 1 hour until topping is crisp and golden brown
