2 lbs. pork
2 cup water
1/4 cup soybean sauce
2 tbsp. sugar
1/2 cup green peppers, chopped
2/3 cup pineapple, crushed
2/3 cup sweet pickle
1/2 cup green onions, chopped
2 tomatoes (optional)

Batter:
1 cup white flour or rice flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
2/3 cup water
1 egg

Sweet and Sour Sauce
1/2 cup vinegar
1 1/2 cup water
1 cup sugar
1/3 cup cornstarch
1/2 cup pineapple juice
3/4 cup sweet pickle juice

Directions:
Simmer pork in water and soybean sauce and sugar for 45 minutes. Drain. While pork is cooking prepare sauce and batter. Cut tomatoes and green peppers in pieces. Dip cooked pork in batter and cook in hot fat. Lightly saute green peppers, green onions, tomatoes, pineapple and pickles. Keep crisp. Scatter over pork. Pour sauce over dish.

Batter:
Sift dry ingredients in bowl. Add liquids. Beat until smooth.

Sauce:
Bring vinegar, water and sugar to a boil. Combine cornstarch, pineapple juice and pickle juice. Add to hot mixture. Stir.
